Cookies are small (<1Kb) files which your browser stores on your hard disk or in memory, when requested to do so by a web page. The web page may retrieve the cookie when it is refreshed, so it can identify you, for example, as someone who as placed an item in your online shopping basket. Computer users have complete control over cookies, in that they may ask their browser to tell them what cookies are stored, and they may refuse or delete cookies.
The cookies used on this website are:
Names: __utma, __utmb, __utmc, __utmz
Function: Identifying unique visitors, visitor sessions, and visitor navigation
Description: Each unique browser that visits a page on your site is provided with a unique ID via the __utma cookie. In this way, subsequent visits to your website via the same browser are recorded as belonging to the same (unique) visitor. This is for the recording of visitor statistics used in the Google Analytics Package.
Names: __lc.server.1068809, lc_window_state
Function: supporting our 'live chat' function
Description: Website visitors can talk to us via a 'live chat' window. This is supported by a separate server which needs to keep track of sessions.
In compliance with EU Legislation we have decided to employ a 'cookie bar' on our website to tell you about the cookies we use.
The cookie bar disappears when you click to 'accept cookies'. When you do this, the website stores an additional cookie, called "removecookiebar" to remember not to display the bar again. If you would like to see the bar again you can use another computer or tell your browser to use "incognito mode" or "private browsing".
You can read more about what we think of the legislation in our cookie blog article here, and a little more in this article, and what we can do for you in relation to cookies here.
If you don't want to accept cookies and want to leave our website, please close your browser window.
